Upkeep Costs¶
Production Structures require significant resource upkeep, automatically deducted from your city's income:
| Structure Level | Hourly Cost (Each Resource) |
|---|---|
| Level I | 150 Wood, Clay, Iron, Stone |
| Level II | 300 Wood, Clay, Iron, Stone |
| Level III | 600 Wood, Clay, Iron, Stone |
| Level IV | 1,200 Wood, Clay, Iron, Stone |
| Level V | 2,400 Wood, Clay, Iron, Stone |
Critical: If you run out of basic resources, the server will automatically shut down your most recent production structures and cancel sovereignty claims until resource balance is restored.
Resource Shortage Management¶
When resources run out, the system:
- Identifies the most recently built Production Structure
- Stops its bonus and applies the loss to existing production orders
- Cancels sovereignty claim on that square (sovereignty begins dropping)
- Repeats for next most recent structure if needed
Recovery Process¶
- Place an army back on the square
- Reinitiate sovereignty claim
- Once sovereignty reaches 100% at the correct level, structure bonuses resume
- If not re-established, sovereignty and structures will continue to level down
Strategic Considerations¶
- Specialization: Focus on specific production areas for maximum efficiency
- Resource Management: Ensure sustainable resource income before building high-level structures
- Terrain Selection: Choose terrain types that match your production goals
- Distance vs. Benefit: Balance sovereignty upkeep costs with production bonuses
- Economic Planning: Production bonuses of 250%+ are achievable with proper planning
