Resource Sovereign Structures
Resource Sovereign Structures¶
Overview¶
Resource Sovereign Structures provide percentage bonuses to basic resource production in your city. You can only build one structure per sovereign square, and the structure level cannot exceed your sovereignty level on that square.
Types of Resource Structures¶
- Logging Camp: Bonus to Wood production
- Earthworks: Bonus to Clay production
- Mineshaft: Bonus to Iron production
- Gravel Pit: Bonus to Stone production
- Farmstead: Bonus to Food production
Bonus Calculation¶
The bonus depends on the underlying terrain's resource distribution:
Formula¶
[Structure Level] × [Relevant Resource Distribution] × 0.2 = Percentage Bonus
Examples¶
Logging Camp I on a square with 5 wood:
- 1 × 5 × 0.2 = +1% Wood production bonus
Logging Camp V on the same square:
- 5 × 5 × 0.2 = +5% Wood production bonus
Logging Camp IV on a square with 7 wood:
- 4 × 7 × 0.2 = +5.6% Wood production bonus
Note: You'll be informed of the exact bonus before building the structure.
NPC Squares - Enhanced Bonuses¶
NPC squares have been reseeded with enhanced resource distributions (up to 25 total plots) and provide significantly higher bonuses.
NPC Square Tendencies¶
Different NPC square types favor certain resources:
- Ancient Forests: Tend toward Wood
- Barrows: Tend toward Clay
- Abandoned Mineshafts: Tend toward Iron
- Standing Stones: Tend toward Stone
- Dolmens: Tend toward Food
- Ruined Towers: Random distribution
Example: High-Value NPC Square¶
Farmstead V on an NPC square with 20 Food:
- 5 × 20 × 0.2 = +20% Food production bonus
Important: NPC squares remain unsettlable, and NPC spawns continue normally alongside your structures.
Upkeep Costs¶
Resource Structures have no additional upkeep costs beyond maintaining sovereignty on the square (Gold and Research Points only).
Required Skills¶
You need specific skills to build each structure level. Skills follow the pattern of the corresponding city building:
Example: Logging Camp Skills¶
- Logging Camp I: Same as Lumberjack Level 1
- Logging Camp II: Same as Lumberjack Level 5
- Logging Camp III: Same as Lumberjack Level 10
- Logging Camp IV: Same as Lumberjack Level 15
- Logging Camp V: Same as Lumberjack Level 20
Strategic Considerations¶
- Terrain Selection: Choose squares with high resource distributions for maximum benefit
- NPC Priority: NPC squares offer the highest potential bonuses
- Distance vs. Benefit: Balance upkeep costs (based on distance) against bonus potential
- Specialization: Focus on resources your city needs most or can trade effectively
